    例 1 (2011 英语一 Text 2)

① When Liam McGee departed as president of Bank of America in August, his explanation was surprisingly straight up. ② Rather than cloaking his exit in the usual vague excuses, he came right out and said he was leaving “to pursue my goal of running a company.” ③ Broadcasting his ambition was “very much my decision,”McGee says. ④ Within two weeks, he was talking for the first time with the board of Hartford Financial Services Group, which named him CEO and chairman on September 29.

    第一段:通过艺术品市场牛市的终结这一现象引出主题。
    Par.2
⑤The world art market had already been losing momentum for a while after rising bewilderingly since 2003. ⑥ At its peak in 2007 it was worth some $65 billion, reckons Clare McAndrew, founder of Arts Economics, a research firm—double the figure five years earlier. ⑦ Since then it may have come down to $50 billion. ⑧ Butthe market generates interest far beyond its size because it brings together great wealth, enormous egos, greed, passion and controversy in a way matched by fewother industries.

These recordings are cheap, available everywhere, and very often much higher in artistic quality than today’s live performances; moreover, they can be “consumed” at a time and place of the listener’s choosing. The widespread availability of such recordings has thus brought about acrisis in the institution of the traditional classical concert.

It’s like the teacher who breaks up the troublemakers in the back row by pairing them with better-behaved classmates. The tactic never really works.     25. The author’s attitude to what UK governments have done for sports is______.
